ADHD is the term commonly used to describe symptoms of lack of attention, distractibility, and poor working memory. To the person with ADD it feels as if everything is happening all at once. This creates a sense of inner turmoil and panic. The individual loses perspective along with the ability to prioritize. He or she is always on the go, trying to keep the world from collapsing. ADHD is the term used to describe additional symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity. Both are included in the medical diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ADHD is a genetic mental health disorder that causes an individual to display heightened levels of hyperactive, inattentive, and impulsive behaviors.
When we test for ADD/ADHD we take time and care to identify the particular type of ADD/ADHD you are experiencing, and will create a custom training system to help you overcome your symptoms.
Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders often have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Anxiety disorders can involve recurrent episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks). These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last over a long period of time. You may avoid places or situations to prevent these feelings. Symptoms may start during childhood or the teen years and continue into adulthood. Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder. You can have more than one anxiety disorder.
There's no way to predict for certain what will cause someone to develop an anxiety disorder, but our trained providers will help you take the necessary steps to reduce the impact of your symptoms. Psychotherapy, meditation, medications and Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) are all modalities utilized in the treatment of anxiety disorders. CBT is the most effective form of psychotherapy for anxiety disorders. Generally a short-term treatment, CBT focuses on teaching you specific skills to improve your symptoms and gradually return to the activities you’ve avoided due to anxiety.
POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER / EMDR
EMDR Treatment Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (“EMDR”) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. It is the treatment of choice for healing trauma. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated and physiological arousal is reduced. EMDR treats the symptoms associated with depression by targeting underlying life events, childhood memories and negative beliefs and triggers.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living. More than just a bout of the blues, depression isn't a weakness and you can't simply "snap out" of it. Depression may require long-term treatment. But don't get discouraged. Most people with depression feel better with
medication, psychotherapy or both.
In younger children, symptoms of depression may include sadness,
irritability, clinginess, worry, aches and pains, refusing to go to
school, or being underweight. In teens, symptoms may include sadness, irritability, feeling negative and worthless, anger, poor performance or
poor attendance at school, feeling misunderstood and extremely
sensitive, using recreational drugs or alcohol, eating or sleeping too
much, self-harm, loss of interest in normal activities, and avoidance of
social interaction.

For people who are comfortable discussing and negotiating legal matters without consulting an attorney, mediation is a great option. Divorce mediation allows couples who are ending their marriage to resolve issues outside of court. It is the process of allowing a trained neutral mediator help participate with all the issues relating to a divorce. A mediator can help you reach agreements on the issues you and your spouse need to resolve in order to finalize your divorce, such as child custody, child support, and property division. Mediators don't make decisions or offer legal advice, but rather serve as facilitators to help spouses figure out what's best for their situation.
